Wow!!..."Ragasiya Kanna" is an awe-inspiring number with mellifluous BG score"Kuyil Paadum" seems to be a lift-up of "Sha la la"(Gilli) but the track latergoes on in an un-usual way..."Sembaruthi Poovu" is a sure lift-up of "KannuKulla.."(Dhill,Vidyasagar)...But its nice to hear.."Thullum Thullal" has someshades of "Sundari" song(Kannathil Muthamittal)

Kallori-Joshua Sridhar's comeback??
The super-duper hit of Kadhal made us to focus towards the debutant JoshuaSridhar...The following albums got folded up without a trace except the "pooncholai kiliye" from "Aran"...He has come back with the winning combo ofBalaji Shakthivel...Alright,what about the songs?yeah...we can definitely feel his comeback but only in two songs..All others are not note-worthy"June July" is a feel-good song & a nice melody...The same goes with "Unnarugil Varugayil" too...

You can't expect more than this..Vidyasagar has come out with amazing & divinemelodies which will stay in our mind forever....The album has 6 songs,all melodies & this can even be called as vidyaji's best album ever..None can forget his previous hit "Mozhi"Yet comparisons are inevitable & many songs are definitely inspired from thelegendry music directors,especially, Ilayaraja..."Kanden Kanden",set in the "Vasantha"raaga, is in similar lines to "MinsaraKanna" from Padayappa....well sung by Karthik & Swetha"Soll..Soll" & its female version "Kandum Kanamal" are the pick of the albumhaving brilliantly sung by Balram & Sadhana Sargam respectively"Nenjathiley.." is the next best, inspired from the much recent "Cheeni Kum"of legendry Ilayaraja..."Iru vizhiyo" has a fresh tune & fresh singers coming into limelight"Medhuva Medhuva" has a divine voice of Harini & Jeyaram(I don't know who isthis guy!!Nice voice...Actor Jeyaram??..He plays a cameo-role in this movie)

I didn't get a chance to write a review for this because of the infamous pre-release reports..But it was a pleasant surprise to hear the compositions of Sabesh Murali...Sabesh Murali???!!Yeah..Definitely...I too had a hesitation in the beginning...but the interludes in the "Kadale Kadale" captivated my mind..."Unnai Charanadainden" is yet another soothing melody...

Belated Diwali-release-movie songs review!!!!!
After a small Hiatus!!!...Welcome back friends....
Let me start-off with a praise for Yuvan...because he will get a nice dose of critic later!!!!...
Katradhu Tamizh (Tamizh MA)

... Yuvan's good streak continues...but some songs have shades of many songs...I think it is better to call them to be 'inspired'... Ilayaraja's rendition in "Paravayin koottil" is the pick of the lot..the song is definitely inspired from "Vidai kodu yengal naade"(Kannathil Muthamittal) .Rahul's "Para Para Pattampoochi" is the next best..again inspired from "Ninaivillai endrale" (an awesome melody in Dum Dum Dum) .Its high time for Yuvan to stop his rendition..it is intolerable

Yuvan.S.Raja has 3 big releases this time...Priya's Kannamoochi Yenada,Hari's Vel & Machakaran. The much expected musical-feast has fallen down very badly without passing any musters.
The only surving song is "Kannamoochi Attam Aaditta". Though not a completely original tune, Yuvan has come out with good percussions & rap bits.."Megam" & "Sanjaram" from the same album are mediocre melodies.
Nothing can be reviewed about the other two movies..."Aayiram Jannal Veedu" is surprisingly an average melody in otherwise worst album "Vel". "Machakaran" has to its credit much of the rehash of older tunes of Yuvan himself!!!
Verdict:-
Kannamoochi Yenada:Worthy to listen in FM radios & TV channels - **1/2
Vel:A solo passable number doesn't save this album- *1/2
Machakaran: **
Mediocre Rahman....What happened to "Isaipuyal"??

There had been a 'peak' hype about Vijay-starrer,ARR musical-ATM...But both has faltered badly this time...Remember... the composer's last outing (Sillunnu oru kadhal-SOK ) was not at his best...Here(Valayapatti thavile) Rahman has blatantly used the same folk tune as in SOK..."Ponmagal Vandhal" is a bad remix..not a 'Rahman'ish one...I rather expected a fresh new tune..."Maduraikku Pogathadee" is a mix of couple of old songs..."Kelamal Kayile" is a pure lift of many old songs...Other songs??Nothing to mention...

Polladhavan songs are above average & the best in the Diwali releases.G.V has tried out some soothing melodies, an attempt bold enough at this age."Minnalgal Koothadum" is the pick of the lot.To be frank I had a bad opinion in that it had Bombay Jaishree.I like her voice but felt sad when she was given the same genre of songs (by none other than Harris Jayaraj!!).
Remember Dhina made best use of her in "Uppu Kallu.." and now G.V. The remix is an average number.All other songs are worthy indeed.

The songs from "Thottal poo malarum" cannot be boasted to be a very good yuvan-composed album as all the songs seems to be a rehash of his older tunes....But there is no doubt that they'll become chartbusters especially the "Arabu naade"song....
As a whole "Veerappu" is a mediocre album but 2 songs are note-worthy..."pona varuverro" and "puliya jeicha".The same goes for "Pallikkodam" too. "Intha Nimidam" though evoking a deja-vu, is a soothing melody...

Loneliness and Solitude............
They are two words in life which are often confused among themselves.............Loneliness is that stage in which u feel alone,even though u stand in crowd of hundred; u have the feeling that ur not wanted;u cannot turn to a single soul and bare ur heart open meaning in loneliness u are sad in other ways; loneliness is a feeling which comes when ur sad.Solitude refers to term that ur alone,i.e there is no one around u....solitude can be self imposed i.e u want to be alone.Solitude is a physical state, whereas loneliness is more of a mental state.Another big difference is that U can't be happy when ur lonely,but u can be happy in solitude.So Solitude is bliss , but lonliness is curse.....

More music reviews....
"Katrin Mozhi" has become an eternity to me....Longing for more such soothing melodies... Well the new releases such as "Thottal poo malarum" has turned out to be a damp squib.... The surprise entry is "Kreedom".It didn't create much hype in the audio release....but it has turned out be successful after the movie release.....The title score,"akkam pakkam" and "vizhiyinil" songs are excellent...good work by the upcoming music director G.V.Prakash....

As I said already in my previous post...the musical feast continues with the audio release of Satham Podathey & a big surprise from Illayaraja in cheeni Kum...It is a pleasurable musical journey back to the 1980's....all the songs are the re-mixes of his evergreen Tamil hits....
SATHAM PODATHEY:
"Pesugiren..Pesugiren..."is the pick of the lot.... well tried by Viva girls...didn't expect such a clarity of tamil from them.... a daring and to-be well applaudable one....
"Endha Kudirayil.." is the next best one in the album... As usual Shreya has shown her supremacy but Rahul Nambiar's very good voice seems to get dampened by the background beats....yet well attemped one
There was a much hype on "Kadhal Periyadha.." song.... sung by the renowned carnatic legend Sudha Raghunathan...she has attempted a much "rappy" number showing her versatility...but the tune could have been made still more better... yet a must-hear song...
The other two songs "Oh..Oh..Kadhal" rendered by Adnan Sami & Yuvan himself and "Azhagu kutty" are equally good.The former shows us the usual Yuvan & the latter has a rather harsh-sounding Shankar Mahadevan(the song is actually a lullaby...the sources say) but doesn't fall out of expectations....

CHEENI KUM :
Illayaraja is Illayaraja...none can beat him....wah..soothing remixes from him....No words to describe..only the listener can feel it....Shreya Ghoshal has rendered almost all the songs...
The album starts with "cheeni Kum" the rehash of the "Mandram vantho"(Mouna raagam), then "Baatein Hawa" (Kuzhaloodum kannanukku...from mella thirandhadu kadhavu), "Jane do naa"(Vizhiyile song from 'nooravathu naal')....feeling nostalgic??everything followed by a sax-melody....of international standards....Don't missthis album at any cost

A Musical Feast.....who wins the race?
This season seems to be a feast for the tamil movie song listeners with A.R.Rahman's works becoming more lively with the release of the movie & the audio release of "Satham Podathey".... Also there are songs slowly winning people's hearts...to name a few..."Uppo thaneer" song (Karuppasamy.....) , "Naanthana.." song(Ninaithaley...) etc....
My personal top 10 songs are....

Some recent mellifluous songs....
MOZHI:-
All the songs tuned by Vidyasagar are pleasing to the ear."Pesa Madanthaye" sung by Madhu Balakrishnan & "Sevvanam Selai" by Jassie Gift are the pick of the lots.Equally good are "Katrin Mozhi" with an eternal voice of Balram and "Kannal Pesum Penne" by the legend S.P.B.
MAYAKANNADI:-
Ilayaraja is back to chartbusters this time."Ulagiley Azhagi" sung by Vijay Yesudas & Nandita is a soothing melody which ringers in mind for a long time. "Konjam Konjam",though having shades of Khajuraho song, is equally worth to hear.
DEEPAVALI:-
Though "out of shruti" at times, "Pogathey" sung by Yuvan himself is mellifluous
Other good songs include "Kannan Varum velai" & "Kathal Vaithu".
UNNALE UNNALE:-
Again Harris is as usual in his tracks, invoking a feeling "Deja Vu" of many of his songs.Thanks to him....for he hadn't offered any song for Bombay Jeyashree. She should have felt bored having sung similar songs it seems.Alright... "Unnale Unnale" song is really good to hear,especially the bits sung by Harini...wow heavenly voice.Also "Ilamai Ullasam" & "Vaigasi Nilavae" are good. But the fact is that they will be only ephemeral in chartbusters.
NAAN AVAN ILLAI :-
I personally feel Vijay Anthony is an upcoming music director with right spirits and good talents.All his earlier albums "sukran", "Dishyum" etc are chartbusters though the movies didnt do well in the box-office. Again Vijay has churned out some worth-listening re-mixes."Radha Kaadal Varadha" is a spectaculous remix.All other songs are excellent.
